Woven Stars Quilt - the autumn quilt

Hello again! :)

This time I am sharing a little bit about the autumn Woven Stars Quilt! I played around on PreQuilt after I had this pattern designed to easily throw together some color combinations and ended up with these fabrics!

Fun Fact: PreQuilt has this randomization function that lets you click a button to change up the colors in your quilt randomly! I utilize this function to see what it may look like for other quilters to make this design. This is a good way to see new color combos outside of what you normally choose. You all should check it out!

Anyhoo - this colorway is actually featured in the pattern along side some other inspiration quilts. After adding it into the pattern, I knew I HAD to make it into a real quilt, because these colors together are just dreamy! The fabrics I used for this quilt are Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids in the colors Blossomed, Candied Cherry, Apple Cider, and Raw Gold and one Michael Miller Cotton Couture solid in Confection. Raw Gold is one of those colors that makes me want to use it in every quilt ever, so I had to include it in this quilt. It really is the perfect gold solid, isn’t it?!

I had a lot of fun making this quilt, because I was creating a lot of content for Instagram Reels during this time! If you do not know, Reels is just like TikTok but for Instagram. This is basically short, edited snip-its of videos with music in the background. (If you want to see the mediocre editing that I have done for these reels, you can check out my Instagram here!)

I have a hard time photographing the quilting process, because I mainly quilt in the late afternoon/night. I have to be quick to get some good in-progress shots in while I have the sunlight! (I took advantage of the shadows in those fabric pull pictures up there!)

This trimmings pile was giving me serious Gryffindor vibes. It is also probably because I was watching Harry Potter at the time, too.

This quilt turned out to be one of my favorite quilts I’ve ever made. And I know people always say that their current project is their favorite thing ever, but this actually is my favorite. It’s going to take a special quilt/color combo to replace the spot that this quilt holds in my heart!

The autumn Woven Stars Quilt was quilted up again by the lovely Joanna of Kustom Kwilts. I knew I wanted to do a fall themed panto, and she worked with me until we found the perfect panto in the whole world. The leaves and the pumpkins are just the best cherry on top of an already awesome quilt.

The backing fabric is Presently Plumes Gold from the Homebody collection by Maureen Cracknell for Art Gallery Fabrics. And I’m going to be honest with you - I did not realize that I chose another Homebody fabric for the backing of this quilt until I wrote this. So I think my brain knows what I like without me even thinking about it! Maybe I should make a whole Homebody quilt next??

Up next, I will be sharing the Woven Stars tester crew and their amazing quilts that they created!
